We’re getting a slow start to October, can you believe we are already five days in?? My son was born in Orange County, California and upon finding out that he had a congenital heart defect, he was airlifted via helicopter to Kaiser on Sunset in Los Angeles County, California. If you look at these two counties on a map you will think that it is really not that far away, but if you add in LA traffic it can be quite the journey. We were driving back and forth from our home to Kaiser during his first week prior to surgery, and sitting in the traffic after being in the hospital all day can be quite draining and time consuming. Staying near CHLA, where he had his surgery, was really important to us once Luca had his surgery date set and without the Ronald McDonald house, our only option would have been to pay for an expensive hotel to be able to
